AMSA: Health Policy Committee

Vision

The first point on AMSA's Legislative Agenda outlines our position on health policy advocacy: Quality, Affordable Guaranteed Health Care for All

AMSA supports universal access to high-quality health care for all. Further, AMSA believes the best strategy to realize health care as a right in this country is a publicly funded, privately delivered national single-payer system. In pursuit of this goal, AMSA advocates for:
  • Guaranteed access and coverage
  • High quality of benefits
  • Affordability (in the absence of a single-payer system)
  • Guaranteed access to care and equitable treatment for all

Case's AMSA Health Policy Committee is committed to furthering health justice via policy. Our organization coordinates physicians and medical students for educational Health Justice Suppers, runs voter registration tabling, and collaborates with other health justice organizations at the CWRU SOM.

Check here to see if you're already registered.

To register to vote:
  • Print out & mail this form to your local Board of Elections.
  • You can find your Board of Elections address here. Cuyahoga County's address is: Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, 2925 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, OH 44115

To register to vote absentee:
  • You can vote absentee in Ohio for any reason.
  • Absentee voting is particularly useful for med students because we have unpredictable hours and often can't make it to the polls on election day.
  • Use this form to request an absentee ballot.
  • Mail the form to your local Board of Elections (see above). You can include this form in the same envelope as your voter registration form.

Vote Smart also has a useful tool that allows you to look into the voting records and positions of all federal candidates.
